Tracy Helming's Violin Studio

Tracy Helming received a Master’s Degree in music performance from Yale University, and completed registered Suzuki training in all 10 of the violin books, including long term training with Teri Einfeldt at the Hartt School of Music. She has been teaching violin and chamber music since 1990, both in her private studio in Seattle as well as at institutes and workshops around the Northwest and Alaska.  In 1999, Tracy moved to Seattle and began teaching with Yuko Honda, combining studios for weekly group classes and performances.  In 2006, she closed her private studio in order to focus on the surprisingly time consuming job of being a Suzuki parent to her two children, a cellist and a violinist.  During this time, she continued teaching in workshops both within and outside the context of the Suzuki method.  In 2010 she reopened her studio, and is enormously happy to be blessed with the opportunity to work with so many delightful and hard working musicians and families.  Tracy has studied advanced violin pedagogy outside the Suzuki method with Ron Patterson, violin professor at the University of Washington.  She also is an avid performer of middle eastern music and dance.
